The wind and rain of #HurricaneFlorence have begun to lash North Carolina, with the storm growing in size, packing sustained winds of up to 105 miles an hour and driving a storm surge that could reach 13 feet in places. As the storm spread across coastal areas, officials warned of its potential to deliver catastrophic, life-threatening damage. The National Hurricane Center said the storm, which has begun to slow, will likely maintain its intensity until the eye of the hurricane makes landfall early Friday. It’s forecast to crawl inland, drenching a wide area with extremely heavy rains — 20, 30 or even 40 inches of rainfall in some spots. @thecadejo took this photo of people boarding up the windows at the Mills House Wyndham Grand Hotel in Charleston, South Carolina, today.
