I woke up with the ☀️ today so I could put up posters around my beloved #LosGatos I received a ton of smiles, a few curious looks and some looks of obvious disapproval ? All made me smile.
One very nice lady asked me very sincerely, “is this what happens to all OLD professional athletes?! Putting up event posters on your hands and knees all over town?!” ?
My ego wanted to take exception to the “old” comment, but I took a breath and allowed her to call a spade a spade ♠️ 40 does feel really good, and so ... ?♀️✌️?. It made me think about her comment and what it truly brought to the surface for me. In all sincerity, it led me down the path of AWE & total APPRECIATION BECAUSE - _ - _ - I AM a professional athlete in my 19th year. Holy ?! I am also a professional athlete whom has the INCREDIBLE honor & PRIVILEGE of CREATING, SUPPORTING, SERVICING & GIVING BACK to the sport that has given me the ?! Alongside my incredible partners & team at @platform1440 we are REVOLUTIONIZING the way a pro sport is brought market. We are repackaging and innovating our offerings & amping up the #technology so that we can positively impact a broader community all through the heart, soul & unbeatable lifestyle of #beachvolleyball which will bring net new eye balls and net new fans to the game.
I mean .... how many pro-athletes get to take part in the #founding & launch of a #global movement founded in pure positivity, fueled by heart & soul, established to serve, elevate, empower & inspire?! Oh my full heart ❤️ #p1440 is here to create our platform with that magically rare, #lightninginabottle feeling. Our first event is coming up in my home town of #SanJose ✨
Every poster I put up today was put up with a full heart, hope & faith that you’ll all show up (with 10 friends ?) & have the time of your lives, and with a sincere “thank you” to those who will support in whatever which way (in person, via streaming at p1440.com or by watching the finals on @abc 9/30).
