Hi, Stephen Shelesky (@StephenShelesky) and I’m taking over @アメリカ内務省 for the day, sharing my favorite moments from a three-month long summer road trip exploring public lands across the western U.S. Hiking The Narrows through the Virgin River in Zion National Park (@zionnps) was one of my most memorable experiences. Whether going for just a few bends down the river or an overnight trip, The Narrows are surreal. While wading the river, red walls extend a thousand feet above you with the gorge being only about 30 feet wide in places. Needless to say, this creates a dramatic impression that is iconic Southwest.
