My own mother once got so tired of my brother and me fighting that she told us to take off our belts (pretty sure they were braided belts because 1990s) and sent us to the laundry room. There we stood with belts in our hands by the washer and dryer. She said through the door, “I’m done with your fighting. Take care of it yourselves.” And she left. We both started laughing so hard and hit the washer a few times while yelping in faux pain.

My mother will probably deny it, though. She remembers us as the angels we are today.
