On August 9, 1916, #LassenVolcanic National Park in #California was established. Home to steaming fumaroles, meadows freckled with wildflowers, clear mountain lakes and numerous volcanoes, Lassen was brought to the world stage on May 22, 1915, when Lassen Peak erupted. This event helped pave the way for the establishment of the park a little over a year later. Over 100 years after the park was established, Lassen Volcanic still offers visitors the chance to discover its remarkable volcanoes, roaring fumaroles, thumping mud pots, boiling pools and more.
