I love stadiums - love the games played inside them, the men who play them (well, some of them), the earth greens, blue skies, the lights - I love the stories they hold.
Oakland Alameda County Coliseum - come on! The Raiders and A’s teams of the 70’s?! Mythic monsters. And the names that put it down on this field - Stabler, Tatum, Upshaw, Branch, Biletnikoff, Casper, Madden & Blue, Jackson, Hunter, Campaneris, Fingers, Martin - legends. I’m talking old school, yeah. Caught the A’s vs the Tigers last night. One of the Teamsters slid me a ticket - The Rally Skittles Dad ?, and, again, a great story wanted telling. Here's Ramon Laureano after knocking in the game-winning run with a walk-off shot to deep right field in the bottom of the 13th…in his major league debut. Scoreless game ‘til then - his first ever big league hit. Nice one. I love stadiums.
