A resident is comforted after seeing her home for the first time Thursday after a massive #wildfire leveled more than 1,000 homes in #Redding, California.

The blaze in the Redding area, 225 miles north of San Francisco, is the largest of 18 wildfires burning throughout #California. Firefighters were having some success keeping flames away from heavily populated areas, and officials began allowing some residents to return to their neighborhoods.
