One of my favorite things about @ninjawarrior is that the men and women compete on the same course- same obstacles, same distances- so I can see exactly how I placed among all of the HUMANS who competed. This year, I’m proud to say I got 5th overall. That’s my 4th year in a row placing in the top 6 at Regional Finals! ??. I was so nervous I wouldn’t be able to live up to my performances from previous years, but I stayed focused, and pulled through. ?
Lessons:
My biggest mistake was a miscalculation on the pyramid hopper. Because I felt weaker than in previous years, I believed that my only chance was to move quickly through it, before my grip strength ran out. Play it safe/slow and risk running out of strength? Or fast/efficient, and risk slipping? I rushed it, and slipped before I even felt the burn. It was a gamble, and I chose the wrong one. It was frustrating, because I feel nearly certain I could have done that spider climb, but proud to have done as well as I did with such minimal training and intense jet lag. ✈️
