Twice a year the Outdoor Retailer trade show hold its exposition in Denver. It’s a busy three days with meetings, chance encounters and planned events. At the root of it it’s always great to see the people we work with in one place. ??? The highlight this year was the opening of the Montbello Park and the climbing boulder with the folks @denverparksrec, @elk_kids, @trustforpublicland and @ザ・ノースフェイス. This multi year project has the goal of bringing outdoor climbing structures in underserved neighborhoods. The opening of the first boulder was an affirmation of the steeped in values of climbing. ??? The North Face hosted four panels discussing the challenges and opportunities of experiential outdoor recreation. Nature is a healing place and helping people find this happiness makes for a more peaceful planet. ❤️❤️❤️ Friends - it’s the best part of this. Even though this community, which values equality, inclusivity, public lands and the environment, is being marginalized by the powers that be, there was a tremendous and infectious level of optimism. Tie optimism with enthusiasm and there is no summit we can’t reach.
