A lot of my friends are still surprised by the lifestyle I chose. “You do what?! You kill fish? With the blood and all? Ewww, I thought you were girlie”. YES, I am a woman, yes I choose to harvest my own food. Why? Because I was tired of being sold food that’s injected with chemicals, because I was tired of not understanding the ingredients on my labels, because I refuse to be a part of a system that has no problem destroying the planet because of greed, because I’m a woman who likes to take matters in my own hands and not depend on anyone and because I believe that’s where the future lies. I’m not scared of not conforming, but I’m definitely scared of what I find in fruit loops. Don’t go for easy, go for right.
