"We shot the Mad Max Fury Road Vuvalini desert bikes in Namibia.
I thought we would spend the afternoon on this scene but we only did the one take. I treated the sand the same way as I do liquid, snow or rain. I try and keep the shutter between 100th of a sec and 320th so I can get a little drift through the frame. Shooting rain and snow on a high shutter turns it into little pin pricks and to me it’s distracting and lazy. Of course when shooting action sometimes you have to go for safety, but if you take some risks with a slower shutter you really add some movement and make an image that shouts out to you!" - @jasinboland
