“Hey Mr. Ro! How ya doin today?” •

In the span of 1 & a half hours I heard that exact phrase 9 times. I counted. All from passerby. Some alone. Some with their partner. Some with their family of 4 pushing strollers. - after 4 or 5 occurrences I started to scratch my head.
Who is this man? I thought. Did I just accidentally sneak my way onto the set of The Truman Show sequel? •

Mr. Ro’s visibly outdated business card reads : Call Rosie for odd jobs. Excellent work at reasonable prices. Carpentry. Painting. Plaster. Minor Plumbing. •

I wondered aloud how these people knew Mr. Ro so well. Some were old. Some were young. Surely he wasn’t pulling out kitchen cabinets and sewer lines for newly weds at his age. - so I asked if he was the mayor and he said “of 22nd street I am”

Mr. Ro went on to tell me he bought a house on the street in 1980 for 10 thousand dollars. Now estimated to be worth 300 thousand plus he hasn’t thought twice about selling it because that’s where he & his wife first lived... 20 years since her passing and he still has to wipe a tear from his left eye when he speaks of her. •

I shook his hand. Took his business card. Left him my email. Put my headphones in and when the music picked up where it left off almost 2 hours prior I hummed along to By My Side by @benharper - at which point I looked around every corner for cameras filming this movie.
