And this is not even including what is spent on incarceration or the new $3.5 BILLION DOLLAR jail plan that @reformlajails is trying to stop in LA. @mayorofla has approved a new “Emergency Shelter Plan” that provides not nearly enough housing and MORE MONEY for police than for housing. At every turn, @mayorofla works for less police accountability, criminalizing the unhoused population and allocating resources in ways that will never solve the problem of the 60,000 unhoused people in LA. Never forget that cities like LA and NYC have enough money to end homelessness. What they lack is the political will. And the only way that that will happen is by the demands of the people.
