?? Conservation is a global challenge that requires global solutions. That’s why Smithsonian scientists are collaborating with @GiraffeConservationFoundation, #SanDiegoZooGlobal, #KenyaWildlifeService, and #SenckenbergBiodiversityandConservationCentre to help save the majestic giraffe. We’re working together to mount solar-powered GPS collars on the ossicones (horn-like protrusions) on giraffes to collect data on how and where these animals move. GPS trackers will also provide insight into threats giraffes face, from disease to human-giraffe conflict.
