? Happy #PollinatorWeek! Citizen scientists with Virginia Working Landscapes rediscovered the rusty-patched bumblebee in 2014. After surveying bee populations at 17 sites in Virginia, they found one rusty-patched bumblebee among 35,000 bees belonging to 126 species. Before the rediscovery, scientists had thought it was extinct in the region.
