My parents at Otres Beach, Cambodia just last month.
For the first time in 40 years, my family from around the world reunited in Cambodia. This was their homeland. For me, this trip was once in a lifetime, because never before have I ever been surrounded by my remaining immediate family all in one place. To this day, I am still learning about the deep trauma my own family has been so afraid to talk about. Nobody chooses to flee their homes, nobody chooses to be separated from their loved ones, and nobody chooses to be a refugee. Today is #WorldRefugeeDay and I stand #WithRefugees ?
