Author and historian Yuval Noah Harari (shown here with TED Curator Chris Anderson) appeared on the TED stage live from Tel Aviv to talk about technology and power. Specifically, he explores the differences between fascism and nationalism, explaining how our data is making dictatorships more efficient and capable of control. "The enemies of liberal democracy hack our feelings of fear and hate and vanity, and then use these feelings to polarize and destroy," Yuval says.
