If there is anything I felt my dad left me with in the wake it’s what that quote above encompasses. His life and his passing changed everything. Life itself has changed. And so have I. Somewhere in between this world and the next, my dad caused a stirring. A flame rekindled to seize that yawp of the breadth and depth before me, to unapologetically stay true to my calling and to let the pieces fall where they will in the process. It revealed what’s true and has uprooted what isn’t. I’ve learned that some situations and connections will fall behind closed doors, some will stay the course steady and new doors will also open. All of it is okay, more than okay and the best has yet to come.

So does it bring value? And joy? Or does it detract? What does it inspire? Authentic expression? Or scrambling to keep up? Is it positive? Negative? Life giving or draining? Is it worth your time? Your moments? Your heart?

These are questions that I’ve been taking more pauses to ponder with unfiltered honesty. Not just in situations but even with things too. Whatever it is that I allow in my sphere really. And the questions are good. And the growing is good. There’s vitality in it. And that’s what I want more of.
