With #FathersDay in mind, @photodre set out to take pictures of fathers and their children all in New York. He took these photos over the course of a month, all over the city. What he found: intimate moments between toddlers and new fathers; an intrepid cyclist dad, his kids in tow; a father sharing ice cream with his daughter; another doing pull-ups alongside his kids. “The things fathers pass on to their sons extend far beyond the dominion of the Y chromosome,” @migold01 writes in an essay that accompanies the photos this weekend in @nytimesfashion. “Many of them are obvious: the physical features, the personality traits and the skills and talents so often attributed to DNA. Then there are the less obvious inheritances, the links that later seem inevitable. The choices that, upon further examination, seem like they were shaped by some tenuous bond to the past.
