He never really spoke much about WWII to me other than to share “funny” stories. But I could always tell there was something within, a sadness, a melancholy side that went unexpressed from his years in the war. .... He was a strong man, a gentle man and an incredibly giving man. He would help complete strangers and gave aid to countless people and would never speak of it. .... This man was my father. .....
