Photographer @adrianazehbrauskas recently travelled to #Thailand, #Mexico, #UK, Guinea-Bissau and #Turkmenistan to capture fathers in the delivery room experiencing their first precious moments with their newborns. “The inclusion of fathers in the process of birth giving, supporting and caring both for mother and the baby is a timely issue that should be discussed in all levels of society,” says the photographer Adriana. The first three years of life have a profound effect on a child’s future, and fathers play a fundamental role in that development. The fathers featured in this series want the best for their little ones and they want to be involved in their upbringing. We’re urging governments to implement national family-friendly policies that support early childhood development to give fathers, and all parents, the time and support they need to help their children survive, grow healthy and happy, and reach their full potential. #EarlyMomentsMatter ©UNICEF/Zehbrauskas
