I usually tune out holiday commercials but I can’t help but take note of every last Father’s Day advertisement this year. Anyone who has gone through their first one without their Dad knows it’s hard. This space has been my creative outlet, my dream board and refuge in the midst of grief and joy and everything in between. Expressing myself whether it be through visual means or by writing in my journal or watercoloring on a whim moves me through the layers of the heart and through life itself. So I decided to create my own rendition of treasures and tools that I think my Dad would have loved and some which were actually his such as the ham radio paddle that I used to tap on while he was deep in his amateur radio zone.

My Dad was an avid photographer, always experimenting and learning how to navigate through its evolution of old and new equipment. I know he would have loved being able to explore these @moment mobile lenses finding new ways to create with them and pushing their capacity that perhaps no one else has yet discovered. He was really that good and could have been a world renowned photographer had he pursued it but he just kept it as a humble hobby which he happened to master.

Sometimes life feels like our own Eternal Sunshine Of A Spotless Mind - chasing down memories and holding onto them before they dissipate from our grasp. Thankfully our hearts know no beginning and end and within it our moments with loved ones are eternal. Yet at the same time it reminds us of the preciousness of these passing days and breaths and minutes. They’re all gifts, all miracles really.
