First foodie review! Shake Shack in Yokohama at Queens Square ? So I don’t know how common Shake Shack is in your country but in Japan I’ve only saw this particular store and in Korea There’s one in Gangnam, Seoul. Both are touristy but expensive shopping areas. What really caught my attention is that both here in Japan and in Korea is the 6~7m long queue that goes from the cash register all through the restaurant and out the doors around the building! Their burgers can’t be THAT good...or can they? And if it’s really that good, am I going to become a burger addict queuing hours in front of the store? To find this out, Mana got a Double ShackBurger and I, for curiosity’s sake got the meat free ‘Shroom Burger, paired with ice tea and cheese fries. What I first noticed when entering Shake Shack is that it does look like a normal fast food restaurant but...like a sleek, upscale version, but not too posh to the extent that it would be too difficult to relax! The monotone interior was a big contrast to McDonalds red and yellow color scheme which is supposed to invoke appetite in the customer ? I personally love Shake Shacks interior! As for the menu, the price is double of that of McDonalds. The taste? 500x times better. I kid you not, but after having the Double ShackBurger I felt like all the burgers I’ve ever had in my life were just TRYING to taste like a burger, while the Double ShackBurger tasted like what a burger was SUPPOSED TO TASTE LIKE! The buns were actual bread that wasn’t just “fluffed up”. Especially touching was the patty, which although made of ground beef, had a texture and umami similar to a grilled steak. ? As for the ‘Shroom Burger, well, it did not taste like a hamburger but a shroomburger! Instead of a patty there were sautéed mushrooms inside of what looks like a croquet. It’s a great option for vegetarians I think! ? I’m not a big fan of food that is oily... but luckily the cheese fries were not oily at all! Even though I’m not a french fry girl I never munched away on fries like these. The right balance of crisp-on-potato, then topped with an addictive cheddar cheese cream spiked my serotonin levels up to the stars. Gochisousama Deshita ?
