Like all young gymnasts, I grew up idolizing my gymnastic heroes- I wanted to be just like them. I studied everything they did in the gym, out of the gym, on TV competing, and anywhere else I could— Keep in mind these were pre-social media days ?

Fortunately, I had amazing mentors right in front of me. At the time, I truly didn't realize how lucky I was to have had the best coaching me and training with me every day. •

So many people played a huge part in helping me achieve my dreams ten years ago at the 2008 Olympics. It’s my turn to help inspire, support, and mentor the next generation of female athletes. That is why we created @BeGrander. Even with social media, I’ve always felt something was missing…a deeper, more engaging way to interact and learn from the people who inspire you.

I love watching this global community of gymnasts grow- motivating and encouraging each other every single day. We started in gymnastics, but our vision is to build communities in every sport and to be a part of every young woman’s journey to achieve her dreams in athletics and life.
