Last night was a dream... I want to thank Paul, Bart, Nadia and the entire Hall of Fame board for this honor that I will forever remember. Congratulations to my fellow inductees... I’m not even sure you all know how much of an impact you have all had on my career and life. I was glued to my tv as I watched Alexei, Andrea, and Paul all go on to win Olympic gold. I wanted to grow up to be just like them... both on and off the gymnastics floor. My parents always told me, people will remember you more for how you act and treat people, than for how many Olympic medals you might have... and I’m truly thankful to have such amazing role models right in front of me. •

To my incredible fiancé who has just seamlessly adapted into this crazy little world of ours, I love you and am forever thankful for you and your constant love and support. To my family and friends... those that have traveled here today, and those who couldn’t be here. Thank you for always loving and supporting me through the highest of highs, and lowest of lows. To my parents... it’s hard to put into words exactly how much you mean to me. But I thank you for giving me the life I have today. I always wanted to grow up to be just like you, and always wanted to make you proud.

And I would just like to finish that while this is the greatest honor in my career to be inducted into the International Gymnastics Hall of Fame, it almost doesn’t seem right to be celebrating at a time that when I look at the sport we all love so much, it truly breaks my heart... but I believe— with the amount of passion in the very room last night, let alone around the world, for the sport we all love SO much— if we all stick together and work together, gymnastics can once again become the sport it was when I fell in love with it as a little girl, just watching some of my biggest idols.
