Here it is in a nutshell of why the American veterinary associations ALWAYS stop our anti-declawing bills. ?
They fight aggressively & with lots of money on lobbyists to keep this inhumane & mutilating procedure legal for their vets.
I have the letters of opposition that were sent by the California Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA) and some of their declawing vets, like this one, when they successfully stopped our anti-declawing bill in CA. last month. ?

My researchers found that when a first time cat owner calls this AAHA (American Animal Hospital Assoc) vet hospital, and asks for the price of a neuter and if there is anything else they recommend or that people have done, one employee said, "usually declaws." When you ask for the price of a declaw, they ask if you want two paws or four paws. (4 paw laser declaw is around $280) They say that there are no long term negative consequences to a declaw except that the cat has to be an indoor cat. When asked if the vet is skilled at the laser declaw, they say that he's been practicing for 40 years and he is doing a declaw that day.
NO mention of a consult appointment to talk about humane alternatives and no mention that it is an amputation procedure. ?
The voice recording, when you are put on hold, also advertises their laser for cat declawing.??
