Yesterday I was surrounded with beautiful and inspiring women at the @BECCA event and I’ve never felt more at home. Their #BECCAbealight dinner hosted a small group of ladies (and a few amazing men) who came from all over the world and want to make a positive impact.
To me, being the light is being true to yourself and showing women that fitting in isn’t what makes YOU special. I walked in there with a $7 dress I found at a vintage store last week, $25 heels that sparkled like Swarovski crystals even tho they clearly weren’t and one earring (the other would snag on my hair) that I got from a boutique for $5. I’ve never felt pressured to have the fancy shit that some people may yearn for. I’ve always thought that it’s not what you wear, it’s how you wear it and how you feel when wearing it. I felt like a million bucks last night. The girls around me made me feel like a million bucks too. They lift each other up instead of comparing and judging. No jealousy or competition because each one of us brings a little something different to this world.
