For the past 19 years, figure skating has been my whole life. It’s been what has gotten me out of bed in the morning. It’s taught me so many life lessons. It’s given me discipline. It’s given me something to look forward to each day. It’s been the most important thing in my life for practically my whole life. It’s taken me around the country and around the world. It’s given me the greatest honour I never thought I’d have, being able to represent Canada. Skating has given me the mos amazing friendships that I will keep with me for the rest of my life. I will always cherish my silver medal from Canadians and my trip to the World Junior Championships. At this time, I’ve decided to move on from competition. I still very much miss the adrenaline, the stress, and everything else that comes along with competing, and I think I always will. Although I’m done competing, I however am joining the show side of skating. I get to go to England for Hot Ice for 3 months! After this show, who knows if I will continue skating, or if I will jump into my new passion of becoming a Fire Fighter. I know it’s the career for me, as it gives me the same goosebumps I used to get from skating. I hope that coaching will be something I do for a long time on the side. I hope to pass along some of the lessons I’ve learned to the up and coming. I’ve had the extreme pleasure of working with some of the most amazing coaches in the world who have shaped me as a skater but also as the human I am today and I thank each and everyone of them immensely for their help then and continued support today. Thank you to everyone who has supported me over my career. It’s been a great ride! #figureskating #19yearsoffun #movingonishard #thankyou
