Soul of the South Bay Portraits. @righttribe Edition .
I recently started a small personal project documenting some of the people and small business owners who embody the soul of this place we call home. I'm shooting all of these on film for a few reasons, one of which is the medium of film best reflects the authenticity of each of these people.
The changing landscape called "progress" around the South Bay is undeniable and it's people like Lauren, Johnny (and Gordos ?) of Right Tribe who inspire me with their genuine love of the community, art and the South Bay I call home. Their shop is full of crystals, handmade leather goods and other rare trinkets, the location can be hard to find. This brings a certain charm to the fact that it doesn't have a big neon sign with their names on it. So if you find yourself walking down the alleyway downtown behind Manhattan Beach Blvd look for this entry way, you'll have finally found @RightTribe (they also have freshly baked pie on Sundays, but we'll keep that between us ??)
