Comprising roughly 8,600 square miles (22,271 km), the Westfjords of Iceland represent a sparsely populated and wild stretch of Iceland’s coast. With more than half of the total population of 7,380 living in the largest town, Isafjordur, the area consists of impressive landscapes and a series of dramatic fjords, vital for Iceland’s fishing industry. These fjords and the region’s unique geology holds some incredible landscape photography opportunities. Thus, the Westfjords represent an area where I have had some of the most important experiences of my life, but also an area instrumental in pushing me forwards in my career as a landscape and adventure photographer.
