At night, #GrandPrismaticSpring takes on a whole new personality with fewer visitors. The largest hot spring at #Yellowstone National Park, Grand Prismatic is approximately 370 feet in diameter and over 121 feet deep. Astrophotographer David Lane created this multi-image panorama of the #MilkyWay reflected in Grand Prismatic by stitching together 42 frames (24 for the sky and 18 frames for the ground). The bands of color on the horizon is airglow, which is created by charged particles in Earth's atmosphere and is only visible through long exposure photography.
