Today in St George’s Hall at Windsor Castle, The Queen, as Colonel-in-Chief, presented a new Standard to the Royal Tank Regiment.

Formed during the First World War, the @royaltankregiment is the oldest tank unit in the world. In 1960, The Queen presented the first Standards to the Regiment's 8 Battalions. On that occasion HM recalled that King George had seen the first tank demonstrated in 1916 & as the Regiment's first Colonel-in-Chief, he embodied the Royal Tank Corps into the Regular Army in 1923. ?PA
