Proving that you don’t always need perfect blue skies in order to capture a great shot, this atmospheric photo of the Dinorwig slate quarry, taken by @andybeelfrps, demonstrates how clouds can have a huge impact on your black and white pictures. Andy often applies the ACROS +R Film Simulation to his images as the red filter darkens any blue content in the sky, helping to add contrast. After all, ‘the medium black and white photography is about contrast, not colour’ he explains.
