When I was in Montreal last year I fell in love with Montreal style bagels as found at St. Viateur and Fairmount bagel shops. They're crusty on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside, slightly sweet and studded with sesame seeds or poppy seeds. I haven't had a delicious bagel since. Until now! I'm so excited this morning that I made my own. Pretty darn similar in taste and texture. Took 2 hours but is faster and cheaper than a flight to Montreal!
