Today The Prince of Wales has continued his Royal Tour of Australia in Cairns.
The day started with a church service and a visit to HMAS Cairns to present an award for excellency.
The Duke of Gloucester Cup is the award for the Royal Australian Navy unit displaying the highest level of overall proficiency for the year. The Prince presented the cup and Met families of people serving on board.
Hydrographic Ship Blue Crew received the award for its performance in 2017, the first hydrographic unit to do so in the Cup’s 71 year history.
