The northern range of #Yellowstone National Park is one of the best places in the world to watch wolves. ?From 1995 to 1997, wild #wolves from Canada and northwest Montana were released in Yellowstone #NationalPark, and as of December 2016, there were at least 108 wolves (and 11 packs) that were noted in @yellowstonenps. While coyotes are often mistaken for wolves, wolves are larger -- measuring 4-6 feet long from nose to tail tip, and weighing 100-130 pounds for males and 80-110 pounds for females. Two main color variations exist in Yellowstone in approximately equal proportions: black and gray. These two wolves were spotted in November.
