Photo by @tylermetcalfephotography | Thirty days after departing Vancouver, BC and heading down the Pacific coast by bike last summer, my route took me through this stretch of road at Goat Rock State Beach, California. Twenty days later I would reach the border of Mexico, ending my bike journey along the entire U.S. coastline. Time spent on a bike is time slowed down. Days begin to feel like weeks and weeks begin to feel like months, due to the fact that each passing moment demands one's complete attention. Engaging travel seems to fill in the cracks in life and bike touring (and travel in general) provides a heaping amount of just that.
