Rabbit kitten –Whilst I still get immeasurable pleasure from being out in the field and trying to authentically record my many encounters with nature I have equally grown to dislike intensely becoming stuck at my computer with thousands of images to pore through. As such this is one aspect of my work that I often tend to put to one side, perhaps waiting for such time as I’m able give it the time that it deserves. Of course that day hasn’t come in the last 6 years and as my backlog grows so more and more images get forgotten about, leaving me in the rather perverse situation that I find myself in now. Whilst my photographic skills have definitely improved can I really justify trying to set out to capture new images of rabbits, especially when you consider that images such as this are still tucked away on my hard drive, waiting for years to eventually see the light of day. The reality is of course that unless I stumble upon the mother of all rabbit warrens, one that is literally bursting at the seams with newborn rabbit kittens this adorable species probably won’t be on my ‘to-do’ list any time soon! If nothing else however I do hope that one day soon I can finally mark the folder containing all of my rabbit RAW files from several years ago as PROCESSING COMPLETE. For now at least I shall continue to explore and discover long forgotten images and long forgotten experiences, such as this alert little fellow that I encountered on a warm summers day many years ago.
