?? Halo, who lost both eyes to glaucoma (one in Sept '16 & one June '17) is doing fantastic!
She's adjusted so well & hardly bumps anything. She regularly goes up/dn the stairs to/from the 2nd story like a champ!
She loves being out back (no fence so she's on a lead) taking in smells, noises, and laying in the grass. She's much more confident and adventurous outdoors because she knows there are less things she can bump into. When she goes down our walkway you wouldn't even know she's blind without looking at her.
If you aren't familiar with glaucoma please learn about it. Halo is a Shiba Inu. ?
They are not formally on the list of breeds known to be predisposed to glaucoma but the amount of cases of Shibas with glaucoma I know about say otherwise. Even if your dog isn't "on the list" you should familiarize yourself with this condition. Symptoms often present only when it's too late and people often mistake the symptoms as seasonal allergies.
