? @johnkernickphotography Sian Ka’an Biosphere in Quintana Roo near Muyil. The biosphere was named a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1987 and covers an area of 5200km2. Part of the reserve is on land and part is in the Caribbean Sea, including a section of coral reef. The reserve also includes some 23 known archaeological sites of the Maya civilization including Muyil. Home, to Crocodile, Manatee and Jaguar and any number of birds it’s a special place and well worth a visit. .
