It is hard to imagine that they were once highly endangered. Overuse of pesticides -including DDT- once put the US national symbol’s future in question. But common sense environmental regulations, a ban on hunting and well managed wildlife refuges like the Eastern Neck have brought the bald eagle back from the edge. #eagle #maryland
