A few years ago I was asked to choose one (only one! ?) cause which I would like to attach myself and in which to promote change.
It didn’t take me long to say: Empowering Women and Mothers.
I have seen it. When women can support themselves and their families, everyone wins. Daughters win. Sons win. Men win. Women win.
When women can get an education and a profitable trade, their children can also get an education and profitable trade. When women are elevated, generations are elevated.
It’s not one or the other. It’s not men OR women. It’s women supporting women. And men supporting women. And women supporting men who are supporting women.
We should never accept men mocking women. We should not accept women mocking girls. We are all powerful, wonderful, amazing, and strong. Different. Capable.
My strengths are not your strengths. And vice versa. We can’t just have the mouths and the speakers. We need the ears. The hearts. The hands. The feet. The knees. The arms. The necks. We are all needed in this cause. It is important. You are important.
This is what I hope I teach my daughter and sons. This is what I hope for them. This is why I support organizations like @shesthefirst @womenforwomen and @hellosunshine
