My focus is the Florida panther, the last puma in the eastern United States, and an endangered species that was nearly extinct but now has a chance to recover — if we can protect enough habitat in the @fl_wildcorridor so the population can expand into its historic range in the Northern Everglades and beyond. A panther can have a home range up to 200 square miles, making it an umbrella species whose protection can safeguard thousands of other species of plants and animals.
