Swipe left for this 3-panel view of colorful northern lights in southwest Iceland. There is no particularly favored place for aurora watching in the country, anywhere with clear sky and away from city light with open horizon would be good. Pick a moonless night to see fainter aurora when activity is low. Sometimes you have to wait until midnight to see a better display. Anytime from September to March is fine when the sky is dark.
