this moment... the moment that became the defining moment of my life and career to this date. sure winning olympic gold (second picture) was incredible + taught me to never give up on my biggest dreams (no matter what anyone tells you and no matter how many people tell you no / it’s not possible) but this moment I had when I “failed” truly made the person I am today. falling on my face exactly four years later as the reigning olympic champion (picture 3) in front of 20,000 people + millions back at home made me finally realize life isn’t about being the best, winning gold / first place. ever since that day I promised to remember that the people in your life that truly matter will love you and support you no matter what. whether you win or lose. whether you make your second olympic team or fall on your face.... (literally or figuratively)
