Went for a bit of free diving with @dave.lo.12 off Green Island. Saw giant parrot fish, sea snakes, and some plastic...? The issue of ocean plastic around the world now has The Queen of England’s attention too! Here are my #LittleGreenSteps to cut down personal plastic consumption.
1️⃣I bring a wooden spoon, chopstick, and straw set for those restaurants that haven’t got the memo yet @bamboostrawgirl. Thanks @captainling!
2️⃣ I have replaced my plastic cooking utensils with wood too.
3️⃣ I buy biodegradable plastic bags and products in supermarket (sponges, dish soap, etc,).
4️⃣ I use a @keepcup for coffee, drinks and @bubibottle silicone water bottle.
5️⃣I buy from wet market for plastic free produce and bring a few reusable bags to carry home. I also cook at least 5-7 meals a week for myself to avoid take-out and delivery
6️⃣I use a moon cup and washable panty liners @ecofemme.
Contrary to popular belief, it is not inconvenient to swap for “healthier for the earth”, the “good” choice, and support those companies with my $¥£€! Only then will they become more successful (and price cheaper) than the polluting ones. My thought process goes: Eggs in plastic container or paper? Yes paper! Bread in plastic/processed or fresh? Fresh please! I want to break up with this toxic plastic relationship for good!

I am not perfect, but I am doing as best I can. If I look into my bin I know I need to look into replacing more of my cosmetic non-recyclable waste too like ear buds, razors, and tooth brush.
