You ever really listen to a kid? They, unformed, and not totally informed, imaginations still ripe, and only possibility an elusive yet attractive, mysterious road ahead, will, once in a while spout revelations unable to be conjured by the sage. They don’t have the dirt clod of doubt and the experience of constant disappointment and shame to react to yet — a culture’s shame, a United States of division. A infant cries because it needs food or warmth. A toddler walks for the first time, trudging its own road to the happiest destiny it can find. Now, children cry out because they are being killed, not by their enemy but by their fellow countrymen. Their cry, not ours. I wonder how this will go. #whoistheadulthere #whoosincharge #whatdowestandfortoday Note - this is what I’ve learned: most people aren’t up for a debate or looking for a solution. People of this country are so identified by their guns, they obviously think something’s coming. Being a proponent of our 2nd Amendment, and being from a rural, red area of California, I didn’t grow up like this. If there was a Mass shooting in Templeton, there would have been an absolute uproar, not in some myopic defense that no matter what, more guns not less. I don’t know this country. Not the country I grew up in. Most of the politicians Left and Right, were pretty in the middle. They leaned but it always felt like we were in the same country, going for the same outcome. It’s sad, this radical time, when the poor get spat on and the middle class get spat on and the rich get spat on. Nobody likes anybody anymore except someone with exactly their beliefs. How fucking weird is that?!
