Ermkay, I would not say that I am an “aficionado” in this arena by any means, however, over the past few years, I have been studying the history of the cuisine of a small region in Dalmatia (my family hails from there). The experience has been almost like an archaeological/anthropological adventure. And, over time, I’ve found the wonderful connective power of cooking and sharing food. It can surpass many hardline differences—age, politics, religion, etc. So, now it’s become a bit of a passion project that inspires me whenever I have a free moment.
