Today we got up at 3:30 am to pick up Charlotte and head to Cannon Beach. We arrived as the cloudy skies began to fill with life. The fog and clouds and rain created the most dreamy moments. We visited beaches and caves and discussed this crazy Instagram community. We stopped at Schoolhouse where the CEO thought I was the owner of @Kinfolk Magazine. We then headed south for this waterfall moment. My love of photography has been so fostered and encouraged by the landscapes and culture of the Pacific Northwest. My favorite photographers are almost all from this area. I’d never been to Oregon before yesterday. I wanted to do it right if I was going to do it at all. On our final stop of the day I did an alone hike to the bottom of the falls. It was a very surreal moment. To be alone in a place I’d been inspired by in so many photos. It was especially humbling to be shooting this moment with a @CANON USA 5D IV, a camera that pretty much ensures perfect images with every snap. This series will continue over the next two weeks as we head towards Palm Springs.
