After 3 days of races were postponed by strong winds, @ミカエラ・シフリン’s celebrated quest for multiple gold medals at the Pyeongchang @オリンピック finally began. She lived up to her prophecy with a stirring, come-from-behind victory in the giant slalom. Roaring down a steep and especially taxing racecourse, the @teamusa athlete was both the most aggressive and most technically sound skier. By winning in the #giantslalom, which is her 3rd-best event, @ミカエラ・シフリン has heightened her possibilities for at least 3 gold medals — the most any Alpine skier has won in any Olympics. “I’ve always had a love-hate relationship with giant slalom,” she said today. “It’s been a fight sometimes.” At the 2014 Sochi Olympics, she finished 5th in the event. Then just 18, she was peeved. “The next Olympics I go to,” she said at the time, “I’m sure as heck not getting 5th.” Tomorrow, #MikaelaShiffrin will defend her Olympic title in her strongest event, the slalom.
